Felicia Boswell to Dazzle Audiences as Diana Ross in Motown for Six-Week Run

We hear a symphony, and her name is Felicia Boswell! The Memphis alum has temporarily stepped into the role of famed diva Diana Ross, replacing Tony nominee Valisia LeKae (who will be on vacation) for a six-week run in Motown The Musical. Boswell will take on the iconic role (and all the sequined gowns and gorgeous harmonies that come with it) through September 22; LeKae will return to Motown on September 23.

Boswell made her Broadway debut understudying the leading role of Felicia in the Tony-winning production of Memphis; she later starred as Felicia in the show’s national tour. Boswell’s other credits include national tours of Aida and Dreamgirls.

Directed by Charles Randolph-Wright and featuring a book by Motown founder Berry Gordy, Motown The Musical is a journey through the history of the world’s most famous record label. With a score that includes over 50 beloved hits from the Motown catalogue, the show tells the story of Gordy’s rise from small-town dreamer to big-time record mogul. Along the way, he discovers a slew of musical talent including Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson, Marvin Gaye, Michael Jackson and the legendary Diana Ross, with whom he sparks a romance.

Motown The Musical currently stars Tony nominees Brandon Victor Dixon and Charl Brown, as well as Bryan Terrell Clark, Ryan Shaw, Raymond Luke Jr. and Darius Kaleb. The show opened at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre on April 14, 2013 and has been consistently blowing up the box office week after week.
